Terms of use
These terms apply to your use of DutyAhead (dutyahead.com), including the guides, the calculator, the change log, the data files and the email alerts. By using the site you accept them. Operator: DutyAhead (operator details: see Legal notice). Contact: [email protected].
1. General information, not advice
DutyAhead is a free, general guide to customs, duty, VAT/GST and shipping rules for small online sellers. It is not legal, tax, customs or financial advice and does not create any adviser–client relationship. Customs classification, origin, valuation and tax liability depend on your goods and circumstances. Check the linked official sources and, where needed, ask a licensed customs broker or tax adviser before you ship or set prices.
2. Accuracy and sources
Every fact on the site carries a source, a “last verified” date and a verification label (Verified, Partly verified or Unverified). Rules change often and sometimes with little notice, so a page can be out of date by the time you read it. Do not rely on items marked “Unverified”. Calculator results are estimates, not customs rulings: actual charges are set by customs authorities and carriers at import. If you find an error, please tell us. We will correct it and log the correction.
3. Links to other sites
We link to official sources and to third-party tools. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms. Tool links are currently plain links. See the affiliate disclosure.
4. Using our content
You may quote short extracts from our pages with a link to the page you quote. For any other reuse, such as copying whole pages or redistributing the data files, please ask us first. Official texts we quote remain subject to their own terms (for example, UK public sector information is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0). Do not use the site or the sign-up form in a way that harms them or other users, for example automated mass requests or signing up other people’s email addresses.
5. Email alerts
Alerts are free, sent only after you confirm your address, and can be stopped at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. We may pause or end the alert service, and an alert may arrive late or not at all. Always check the change log and the official sources for anything time-critical.
6. Liability
We provide the site free of charge and “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, the calculator or the alerts, such as unexpected duties, taxes or fees, refused or returned parcels, penalties, lost sales or pricing decisions.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, in particular liability for intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these terms affects the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
7. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by Greek law. This does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer law of your country of residence. We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version, and the version published when you use the site applies.
